Justin Sun was born in July 1990 and is the founder of TRON, a pioneer and practitioner in blockchain and metaverse. Currently, he works as a member of HTX's Global Advisory Board. Justin Sun received his master's degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his bachelor's degree from Peking University. In September 2017, Justin Sun founded TRON, a blockchain ecosystem focused on accelerating internet decentralization through blockchain technology and DApps. Today, TRON boasts over 217 million users worldwide and has an industry-leading TVL (Total Value Locked) after Ethereum. Justin Sun, who has a strong interest in digitizing art works, has purchased masterpiece series by famous artists such as Picasso, Giacometti, Andy Warhol, Beeple, Puck, and KAWS for around 1 billion CNY. The majority of these remarkable works were donated to the APENFT Foundation to promote the NFTization and digitalization of art works.
Justin Sun is also active in charity work. In 2019, he won Warren Buffett's bid for a charity lunch with $4.56 million, and the funds were used by the Glide Foundation for homeless and helpless people. In June 2021, he secured a seat at Blue Origin's New Shepard with a $28 million bid. This entire amount was donated to Blue Origin's foundation Club for the Future to support 19 space-based charities and inspire future generations to pursue STEM careers and invent the future of living in space. Forbes placed Justin Sun on the Asian 30 Under 30 list in 2017 and China's 30 Under 30 list in 2015. Additionally, he was appointed an editorial board member of Information China, a national-level journal under the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).
